Who makes a transmission adapter that would allow us to bolt up a GM 4L80E transmission?

Also th400, 4l80e are same bolt pattern

What are the benefits of switching to the 4L80E? I had one in my Denali and that shit went out on me after treating with the utmost respect!

Can be built stronger than our 48re for less money. Also a lot more options to control it... full auto or act like manual valve body. It's really a TH400 with factory overdrive, well and electronic.

I just wish it handled more TQ (max is 850ft/lbs). Not that my build is making any at this point....... Your's is already close to the max and you haven't tuned the new build yet.

I sure hope so. You're right about those gear ratios though. I would love to have a 6speed auto as well.

I think that the 68rfe would work too IF we could get a computer to control it. A stock cummins puts out 650ft/lbs and 350HP. Most say it will handle 500HP (that should be over 900ft/lbs of TQ) in a 3500 series truck (ALOT more weight). The price on those are stupid high though.

I think 5th in our six speed is.75 to 1 and sixth is .50 to 1

I sent TCI a email to see if that 6-speed is upgradable to handle higher torque levels. I will post there response when I get it.
