Going on a trip

What do you guys/gals do when you go on a trip to keep your truck clean? I have heard of people that use Pam on their hood so that the bugs come right off (I also read the thread about WD40). I was thinking of buying a bug shield just for traveling?:dontknow:

Do you bring a bucket so when you get to your destination you can clean up?

Just looking for a few tips

I have the 3m clear bra now....but before I would just use about 6 coats of wax RIGHT before I left (that morning or evening before) and then go, when I get back, they just wipe right off.

I used a product called "bug off" once. Spray it on, wait a few minutes then rinse...bugs come right off. I think RV stores or stores of the sort have it. I'm sure there are many other products that work well. It is a pain getting bug guts out of all the cracks n stuff!!

I always heard mix reviews on the 3m bra. I heard if installed correctly it was awesome... But then there are people who also reported fading under it. I think if I had a reputable installer in my Podunk town I would probably get one.

I guess I am going outside to wash and put on a crap ton of wax.

I stop at coin op washes. It gives me a chance to stop and check out the back roads. Lemon pledge AFTER each wash prevents the " baked on bug finish"

People at the detailer told me Lemon pledge or Lemon oil too!

I Never use Brushes!.. i bring some microfibre cloths.
