Good oil temp guage ?

I ordered a new oil temp gauge at Tony (JTSV).
I try to install it today but i see total diffrent wiring...i guess

My oil temp guage has a white connector , this one 2 little black ones...

is this maybe a 2004 - 2005 oil temp guage ?



 
Stupid question have you read the instructions? I have those brand guages and they came with everything to install. Good luck

yes , but when its time to plug in , the connectors dont match...:confused:

Come on autometer to be honest have tons of problems hence the reasons most of our stock gauge doesn't work. I have had good luck with aem gauges though. No offense this is just my stupid opinion
 
i'm running 3 different gauges in two different vehicles...
aem, autometer, and speedhut... guess which ones are working?... the speedhuts...
two aem's failed about the same time and both about 8 months old, the factory autometer temp gauge is prone to failure, and so far the speedhut's are doing just fine.

but anyways... do you have to cut the factory two wires that plug into the autometer and solder on the correct plug to fit the speedhut? i've never put a speedhut in a truck so i don't know...

if only i knew what to do to make it work...
if i have to replace sensor , wiring and solder wires , my fun is over...
why is this not plug and play , why is Speedhut so stupid to set viperlogo on the meter and not the wright wiring...????:dontknow::confused:
 
It is not plug and play Sammy. You'll need to install supplied sender, you'll have to run power, ground, sender wire, and illumination wiring. They look great, don't get me wrong, but out of 5 gauges I've used and compared to actual readings in PCM or compared to factory gauges they aren't even close. Had an A/F gauge that is very important not even close to actual wideband reading. Oil pressure and temp that read way lower than actual, and a nitrous pressure gauge (very important to know actual) that read inaccurate at all times.
The only one that worked accurately was the fuel pressure gauge, and it was dead nuts on. ;)

I installed Tonys gage. Maybe this will help.

The gage wired into the OEM plug. It will need the temp sensor from the gage installed to work.

IT SURE IS!!!!!!! I say just throw in the towel and let someone else step and end up in the same boat lol. Better yet just change your name that should fix it all hahaha :D

ordered a guage i think it was plug and play , not alot of re-wiring and installing sensors etc...

just gonna send it back and order an OEM guage.
Tony is ok with that , for me , a returning client for several years now...;)

I got a couple oems in stock too sammy

Its really a simple install. I went through 4 OEM gages in the 10 years I have owned the truck. The hour or so it took to install was worth it.

Yeah, I myself am not worried about the work, I've been waiting to make a purchase, and was probably getting the speedhut one. Just waiting till I have enough money to get a few items at once. I already have a couple other gauges waiting to be installed. Though I'm not gonna install those until I get an exhaust which won't be till next year.

Ugh, I love buying parts and not installing them for a year or so! :banghead:
