I think there was substantial damage in that one :D
A little faster and he might have made it through.

That was in Rockledge, FL on I-95..... I remember that. (If it's not, there was one VERY similar to it). It took them almost 3 years to repair that bridge. :eek:

i dont know the story behind it, its something that every great highpole has on their desk to remind them if they fail what happens.

If I remember right.... the driver died... :( The impact at 70+MPH yanked the whole truck/trailer/excavator back and the driver blasted through the front of the cab window. ..... YES, they said he was wearing his seat belt (they found it, sheered off, still attached to the seat with his body). But, the force STILL threw him from the cab. :(
 
Love to be on the phone when the boss has to call the insurance company on that one ... " we had a little accident " ?

you would have to find the story. ya see there is a reason there is no truck attached. the neck of the trailer separates. it might have been forceful, but something that would snap a seatbelt? no.
