got a code today

P0442-EVAP LEAK MONITOR MEDIUM (0.040) LEAK DETECTED - SRT10, ok what part does this pertain to?? just got home cleared the code but haven't driven it yet:dontknow:

It is a pump that checks for pressure in the evap system at start up. It is under the drivers side door area. It has vacuum lines hooked to it. Could be teh pump or electrical connection. Mine was bad 2 times.

Also check all of your evap hoses for dry rotting and cracks. Make sure the seal on your gas cap is good as well.

code 1486 comes up every once in awhile on mine.

whats involved in removin that "system????"

does anyone have a copy of the routing for this system, so I can check all the right hoses,the code came back, it looks like I might have to replace the gas cap to start

If anyone needs parts pertaining to the evap let me know. I gutted it all from my truck and have the pieces available. Mine didnt have any codes before I took it all off so I assume everything is in working order.

bought a new gas cap and will clear the codes when I go home , we'll see what happens
