TAKING MY TRUCK IN TODAY FOR OIL CHANGE AND 15K SERVICE ON TRANNY.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO ADJUST MY BANDS OR AM I AT THIER MERCY.I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND GOT THE YEAH,YEAH,YEAH IT WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF.THEY ALSO SUGGEST I GET THE DIFF.OIL CHANGED OUT.WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? DO I REALLY NEED TO DO IT NOW.IT'S A DAILY DRIVER.BEEN HAMMERED A FEW TIMES BUT NEVER TO THE TRACK.:dontknow: :rock: :rock: :burnout:

take fingernail paint and paint the front adjusting bolt on the tranny,its on the drivers side towards the front above the pan

I have changed out the fluid in all my trucks (including the Dually) with Schaeffer's 209A gear lube.
You also need to add friction modifier when you do this.

For warmer climates that do not get extremely cold, CA, AZ, FL use 140
For colder climates use 85

This lube actually prolongs the gear and bearing life and cuts wear under high loads.
 
1) Yes, you are at their mercy. :confused:
2) Do what Stinker said and paint a stripe on the adjusting bolt so you can see if they touched it. (StinkMeister has some good tips! :rock: )
