I just a got a ticket. Long story but I was in DC. There are a few errors on the face of the ticket. The put my middle name down as my first, put my first initial of my first name as my middle initial and didn't put on my dob. Do you think those are considered minor error's (i'm f**cked) or would they be major mistakes?

Survey says---

Pay it or ur screwed :D

Not saying I won't pay, but am thinking that I can please not guilty because of the material defects. Its not just a mis-spelled name, but actually a wrong name

Most attorneys that specialize in traffic offenses have a "free consultation" or in the very least will provide prospective clients (with) one free phone call if you need to ask a simple question like this ....

I have 10 bucks (sez) the attorney will advise you to simply pay the ticket....

D

Did he put your Tag number and drivers license number on it?
When you signed it, it also a confession that everything was correct. If it wasn't, that would have been the time to say something.

either way, if you did the deed, pay the man, or just go to court and see what the judge says about it. you'll never now

Pay the man...be more careful. If you were speeding, you deserved the ticket...

My daughter is a criminal defense attorney, and gets drug dealers off on technicalities all the time...pisses me off.

Pay the ticket if you were speeding! If you were not speeding...pay it for the times that you were and were not caught.

he didnt ask me to sign, said he felt bad having to give me a ticket. i wonder if he made the mistakes on purpose. he said he thought the other driver was an asshole

it wasnt a speeding ticket. a cabby hit my car when we were both merging into the same lane

So you did not sign the ticket???

Did the other guy get a ticket too?

Sorry, I assumed it was a speeding ticket...

FIGHT IT!!!

Take it to court and make them prove beyond a reasonable doubt that is was your fault! with the discrepancies on the ticket ,that might be enough to get off. never just pay a ticket make the cop prove everything . he might not even come to court. you never know until you try . and it won't hurt. might be an even cheaper ticket. find some lame excuse for the problem. faulty throddle or something like that
:dontknow: :burnout:

In some states, such as washington, a cop doesnt have to be present in court anymore, all they have to do is write an affidavit confirming that his equipment was working properly and calibrating when it was required, hence you are still screwed with the speeding ticket!!! If that is what you were ticketed with. In the other circumstance, i would go to court as well.

the law is a practice and technicalities make it beautiful...its not the dope dealers i am worried about its the child molestors!!!!!

I don't disagree with your position...but what is a child molester...many convicted are not what you think...the number of young people that are carrying the "sexual predator" label are youngsters them selves...I had a 19 year old student convicted that was just speaking with a 16 year old on the internet...talked about sex...went to meet her...it was a cop...he will live life as a sexual predator...

That is a problem these days...

Dude my lawyer got me off of a LOT of tickets back when I was young(er), stupid(er) and drove fast(er)... usually 175 dollars, I just gave them my CC number and the ticket number over the phone, he would find some flaw in the cops' testimony or ticket (which you CLEARLY would have no problem finding) and then I either didn't have to do a damn thing, or I occasionally went to traffic school and it didn't apply toward the max # of times I could go. it was great.

I would fight it.I NEVER just pay any of them any longer. They can come back to haunt you later. The price of a good attorney is worth it.

I understand your position and I really admire your high sense of ethics. Sounds more like right-wing conservative than a liberal, though.:D

I use technicalities (and lawyers) to either get off or get charges dismissed all the time.I got burned by an over-zealous state trooper and I just never give in to them now, even when I know I am wrong.

yeah learned long time ago its always worth fighting.. otherwise it follows you forever it seems.
