Got a Ticket today :O

Unsafe Speed... claimed 10 was safe approximated me at 30... on a turn off of a main road to a side road..

Also got sited for no front license plate... <no suprise there>

I don't know what to expect... unsafe speed?? my tires MIGHT have squeeled for like a second...

p.s. had I debadged the truck it would have helped me, as he gave me a hard time simply by it being an srt-10... :(

I'll probably fight it in court <depending on how much the ticket is
A: I doubt I was going 30, as I came to a near complete stop at the turn
B: There were oncoming cars that seemed to speed up once I made the turn...

anyway... I just thought I'd take a minute to gripe :eek:
 
That's fkn unfair and I'd fight this to the Supreme court if neccesary.:eek: ;)

how the hell does APPROXIMATED hold up in court?he can SAY whatever he wants to and you have to pay?:dontknow: just one more freedom taken!!
 
"approximated" what is that all about?

go to court and get it reduced to a parking ticket!

Interrestingly enough when I said it was strange that I was spinning my tires because they're 325's <or something> that's when he said, this is an SRT-10, you're telling me you can't get the wheels to spin?? to which I answered, if I "make" it spin by brake torqing..

It's also interresting that he didn't give me a ticket for speeding on the street... basically because I wasn't speeding on the street.... It's a chicken crap ticket:mad:

ok i might be able to help here, first off what exactly does the ticket say he cited you for? second, call your local p.d. and ask them to have officer..... with badge #..... call you and leave your # with the operator. they will send it to his pager and he will call you. when he does, ask him if you put the plate on can you do a "complied with law" if he says yeah then set up a date and put your plate bracket and plate on in a way that looks permanent, thats on you how you do it, but you can do it without drilling holes.(velcro for the day maybe) and meet him and in court he will say mr. so and so complied with the law on the plate offense and that fine will be dropped. its only 30bucks plus court cost which is like 50 here in VA, ill keep an eye on the thread to see when you post back with what he cited you exactly and we'll go from there
 
in cali, ANY cop can sign off on the license plate. my neighbor (cop) has done this for me in the past. as for the unsafe speed, if he actually wrote "approximated" on the ticket that will not hold up in court.

yea yea... I was thinking ... gosh... he didn't catch me doing anything REALLY stupid... just sucks to get caught on some mickey mouse little crap like this... now maybe I'll need traffic school or some nonsense?? ..

Anytime I get a ticket for speeding I ask to see the radar gun, ask for the records when it's been calibrated and then when the tuning fork has be calibrated. Cops love stoping people in a car that they couldn't afford. Cops seem to think they can take law into their own hands. As for the plate issue I have my zip tied on since I WILL NOT drill my bumper!!!!

Dude cops are kids that got the crap beat out of them in High School. Now be smart!!!! In Seattle we have a attorney who can beat about 97% of all speeding tickets go online and look for speeding in (what ever your closest major city is) He can probably help. Don't pay these bastards anything!!:D
