This morning, coming up to a stop light, I downshifted into 2nd and a LA County Sheriff was sitting in the left lane, I had just entered the left turn lane. The cop was sitting back from the intersection about 30 feet, kinda strange.

As I pulled into the lane, he rolled down his window and still sat where he was while I rolled past him.

So, the left turn light came on, I took of (gently) and looked in my rear view mirror and there was the cop, lights flashing right behind me. Since traffic is pretty intense where we were I pulled into a mini mart parking lot hoping he was after someone else, but there he was pulling in right behind me.

Since I've got tint on my windows and it's a legal tint, I rolled down the windows anyway and shut her down. Cop gets out of his car, he walks around the back of the truck looking, then he finally gets up to my window and say "This thing sounds pretty bad, is it fast?"

I told him it was fast enough to get me into a lot of trouble if I wanted. Then he wants to know what the Viper Truck Club of America is as he point to the sticker in my back window, so I explain it to him. Then he asks "You mean this thing has a Viper engine in it?" I Said yes.

So then he asks if he can look under the hood, so wanting to keep him happy, I pop the hood and show him the engine. We end up walking around the truck for about 15-20 minutes with him asking me all kinds of questions. Finally he tells me that he thinks it's a great looking truck and hope you don't mind, I just wanted to get a look at it cause he's never seen one before.

He gets back in his patrol car and gives me a wave and off he goes.

Scared the crap out of me in the begining, but sure made ya feel great to get pulled over for something like that.

EVERY SINGLE STORY THAT ENDS LIKE THIS SHOULD BE POSTED! PERIOD!

i've had enough disdain for the law long enough to know that there are genuine officers that actually do give a shit...and damn fine one's at that...

good to hear, bro!!

p.s. i hope you got his number just in case......."hey, remember me?"

I'll bet he had a juicy ticket all picked out for you. But....

Because you were a gentleman, so was he.

Off subject but Jeff, how did you get the flames on the SRT-10 model in your signature to look exactly like your truck? Looks sweet!

If your going to have a police encounter, that's the best kind to have.

Most cops are great guys......would have not been pleasant if you had stopped on the way home and bought a brew to drink on the way..:marchmellow:

Very cool! I had a similar encounter when I had the Lightning. :dontknow: Most cops are pretty good people... just trying to make a living. :)

i used to work for an ex cop that would go hauling ass through town with lights ablaze after "one of his buddies" because it was "dull and boring around here at 3am".....isn't that kinda like starting a fire as a fireman?...so you can put it out???

i've also determined that it's usually not the cop that pulls you over that makes everybody mad for doin something legitimately stupid...

it's the judge... that was having a good day "til that bitch with 9 kids "married" to that "guy" over there (insert stereotype here) started rantin and raving about some nonsense bullshit and ended up having the entire police force on her front steps all jacked up on crack with "dude" tryin to fight the law at the other end of the trailer and the neighbor's dog barkin all night, judge threatening to hold em both in contempt and the kids stayin with the girl next doors' grandma cuz they're still hung over from the night before" (too stereotypical:dontknow:)

ever freakin time i've had to go judge has been all fine and calm and relaxed lettin people off...then that shit happens and i'm fuckin next....then he's like you...GUILTY...i'm goin to lunch...

WTF:argh: :argh:

Believe me, I was shocked, the Antelope Valley portion of Los Angeles County is basically the training ground for the Los angeles County Sheriff Dept and they are usually tight asses about everything.

He did ask me how fast I'd had it up to and I told him: If I tell you, you'll arrest me.

I like the story! I kinda had the same experience about 10 days ago about an hour after I got my truck....I was going through the neighborhood showing my brother the new ride....of course I punched it down 1 block, not knowing he was about 1/4 mile in front of me....sure enough pulls me over 2 houses away from mine (about 45 min after getting the truck) he realizes I live right there and then starts asking me questions checking out the truck for about 10 min.....let me go NO ticket.......you gotta love those experiences!!!!!!!!!!
