Teaching is my life...communication theory and leadership is my major area of interest.

Please do not view this post as preaching...a fact of life: You cannot exist without sending messages, you will always be evaluate/judged/and treated by the quality of your communication, be it written, spoken or even just body language, dress or the truck you drive.

I would like to use this thread to offer assistance to those who want it...for example many people here need to know the difference between the words "to", "too" and "two", or many other common grammatical/spelling/structure questions. To help, I offer the following:

And you are right Roy. To and Too, I have trouble with. But then the english language is f*cked in my opinion. "I" before "E" except after "C", except for some special cases. But then, I'm an ape. What do I care?:dontknow:

I don't know that it does matter that much in today's world. Hell, you can be elected president using the non-existent word "nucular" and can make millions in music, sports, or any other kind of entertainment barely speaking what passes for English at all. Times and values have changed greatly.

English was my worse subject in school. I think the biggest problem is they way it is taught. It really wasn't until I took an English course in college that I started to understand. Mainly because the the instructor made it fun and provided both good and bad feedback.

Oh Yea, and I've been in a continuing education course since 06. It's called the VTCoA College of Ethics, Grammer, Spelling and Mods!

I am already confused:

The verb trim is a transitive verb.

I thought trim was a noun?

English was one of my least favorite, and worst subjects in school too.

Somewhere along the line though, it just kind of "clicked".

I have never stepped foot in a college, but I have received high marks for college term papers vicariously through my ex-wife! (and a couple with my forever wife!)

I think it is important, whether or not society is accepting of poor grammar, to have a solid understanding of the English language.

Not to be funny but I've seen people use "tue" before. But thanks Roy I agree. This is why I usually write in a manner far different than my ordinary verbal communication. I feel one is judged with the words he/she chooses before anyone lays eyes upon them... before judging how strange they appear. My linguistic skills adjust itself accordingly from one end of the spectrum to the other (intellectual to street ghetto; country to jungle gibberish), depending, of course, on the circumstances, mood or affiliate(s) at the time.
