Sorry, just the teacher in me...but try them you may like them...those long trips to and from GTG's or the Mopar Nationals are perfect times to learn...

Forgo ZZ Top and Deep Purple and give Bryson and Begley a chance!

1. A Short History of Nearly Everything. Bill Bryson

Great way to learn a little about nearly everything dealing with science...never too complicated, just very enjoyable and often really funny.

2. Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain. Sharon Begley

What controls? The brain or the mind? Begley makes a strong scientific case
for the unconventional thought that your mind can make physical changes to your brain...this is huge...and can change your life in many ways. Even if you just want to understand why people do what they do...this book will give you the background you need to start to understand others.

If you have some to add, please do so...if only one or two try these books I will be satisfied!

Thanks Roy, I wrote them down for feature reference for the next trip to Alberta. Not a whole lot to listen in the rural areas.

Will

Where did you get them from Roy?!?

This would probably make my commutes to work much more pleasant!

Tim Robbins has some good ones out there too!

Audiobooks.com or itunes! I think you can get them from Amazon.com too.

Two more great books (not on Tape this time)

1. "Kill Me If You Can, You SOB" by Bob Miller...

This author is much like me but much more angry...a republican who hates the Bush family. But the book above is about Viet Nam and is very funny at times. (http://www.kill-me-if-you-can.com/)

2. "Brothers" by Da Chen

Not finished with this one yet, but it is incredible so far...a view from inside China that is very poignant, and wonderfully written... (http://www.bookslut.com/fiction/2006_09_009891.php)

Nancy McWilliams is really the only author that writes about psychoanalytic diagnosis, but she does not seem to put her books out in audio formats.

Pray tell, why would you want to analyze personality? I would be afraid of what I learned about myself!

Hehe ,i have her book already, thought maybe she had an advanced copy available.

To answer your question: I wanted to learn more about myself,i found myself to be a hyprocrate in a few areas,i also wanted to learn more about reading people to figure out how i should interact with certain personalities and which personalities to steer clear of.

In general ,this has helped me with my business and gives me a better understanding of all the different personalities out there.

Audio books would be great since i'm really lazy about reading but in my truck alot driving.

One of the classics in this area is the David Keirsey series: "Please Understand Me..."

His approach is much more down to earth than the Myers-Briggs approach...lots of corporations are moving away from Myers-Briggs to the Keirsey model...it is so much easier to administer and interpret.
