I have a switch, to turn everything on/off. Is it best to tie that inline with a constant power or what do ya think? thanks

I would do it this way through a relay. Power the lights directly from your battery (through a fuse) but activate the relay with a switched source. That way when you turn your key off the lights will turn off. Won't run your battery down. And you won't be taxing your vehicle wiring by making it handle an additional load. Just pretend the fog lights in the diagram are your ground effects.

Yeah you can. But if you leave the ground effects on accidentally, it will drain your battery. I guess it would be pretty hard to not realize they're on but people leave their headlights on all the time. The relay is just a personal preference.

Just an idea, but at my old shop we installed a couple of sets of ground effects lighting and wired it to one of the aux wires on the car alarms. That way you could cut it on and off outside the vehicle with the keyfob!!!
