The Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin Chapter of VTCOA Inaugural meeting on 6-9-07. I think the first of many.

Had a great small group for our first gathering. Spent some time cleaning my truck with its new stance courtesy of Boomer:

Really rides much better and looks pretty sexy for an old fart's ride!
IMG_0002-1.jpg

First arrival from Wisconsin, Bob (RLGallert) with his mostly stock black RC, he had recently added a few bugs coming past some of the cheese factory's!
IMG_0005-1.jpg

Next arrival was Paul (Hilgee) from the Madison, WI area...he arrived exactly at 2:00 our announced starting time, but that was easy because his truck is made for being on time...most of us know much more about this twin turbo than we really want to. It is running very well, and Walt, you picked a super person to pick up this pick up! Paul has done a lot of the "re-work" on this Hennessey monster himself...it runs heavy and the only smoke is from the tires!

Note that the twin turbos ride much lower than Stinkers...Paul is about to change this to elevate them.

Next to arrive was my special friend David (Stingray) in his sweet new ride...one of the sweetest sounding and looking SRT 10's ;) ;) ;) (he is a GM employee!) you will ever see. He has found a way to make his truck look very aerodynamic!
IMG_0011.jpg

Then we got a really wonderful surprise...Ron (Illinois Ron) rolled into the drive way in this killer RC! Just look and look and look! Ron lives only a few miles from me...but we have never met before...I will be spending time in his garage drooling over his truck...he arrived with his son and future daughter-in-law (they were in a black Ram Hemi of course!).

Now Ron really knows what the bed of this truck is for...catch this:

Some where in here, Mike (Gotridofmyhemiforthis) and his lady rolled in...didn't get any pics of his truck (a blk rc) because I could not take my eyes off her!!! Sorry Mike! But she was killer cute, and younger than my grand kids I think! Besides it did not have a wing and I just could not spread that look on the internet, it would have had to have an X rating.

So by now we have 4 black RC's (one with a few color accents) one black QC with a few turbo accents...and we are feeling pretty good...then Mike's lady says: Here comes a red and black one...and boy was she right! Randy chugged in, in his red (with black stripes) RC. And the first thing was a strange sound that evoked images of a cam with lobes about 4 inches high...the best sounding boosted engine I have ever heard, no doubt.
Randy (avmech) and his Paxson Boosted screaming machine.

Randy is experimenting with the stripes...and is going to paint them on soon, but they look great now in vinyl!

WE talked trucks...talked trucks...talked trucks:

For some reason, my suggestion that we paint the garage was ignored. But as soon as Randy said "Let's Roll" they were all ready to go. A Roe, a Twin Turbo, a Paxson, and three more to keep us boosted guys in line...

While stopped a wonderful memory, stopped to say hello to the trucks:

We had a ball...lots of beer left over, I guess I will have to finish it off...

Thanks folks, I had a wonderful time...hope all of you did too!

Scared that there will be a paint problem with them having been there so long...but I am going to remove one letter to see if the paint can be worked enough to not have a shadow of the letters...

Who would have known??? Lowered the truck does not bounce left and right when I hit the Illinois chuck holes...I thought the problem was due to the Pirelli's but the lowering really did improve the handling!

Ron's painted truck is here in Illinois...Bob and Paul were from Wisconsin. But Ron and I live so close to Wisconsin (a couple of miles) that half of our heads are made of cottage cheese...

Beautiful job Roy. Although I missed the GTG the pics and story were a close second. Thanks for sharing.
