GTR legit or not?

heard some interesting info today regarding nissan GT-R. i you activate launch control it voids your warranty. so they sell you a car telling you it can go 0-60 in 3.5(with launch control) but if you use it your warranty is gone. so if you dont use 0-60 times are in the mid 4's (fast but not supercar fast). and apparently some transmissions have already gone poof with useage of launch control. i would bet those transmissions are crazy expensive. so wouldnt that be like making a car putting a 250 shot of nitrous on it, make a 0-60/quarter mile claim, but say if you use it your warranty is gone?

well ford did that with their N2O saleen focus. was plumbed for NX all you needed to do was ad a bottle. but if you used it VOID goes your warranty.

did not know that. i beleive it is load of horse $hi*. i really respected the gtr's initially when i saw the price and track numbers, but if you cant drive like it was meant to be driven what's the point. thats like voiding the warranty on a vette for turning off traction control.

BMW does that too... In the e46 M3 with the smg there is a "launch mode" that pretty much allows the clutch to dump...If you do it more than 3 times it voids the trans warranty

The tranny fix will cost you $20,000 according to the owner who had his go and Nissan denied warranty coverage. What a crock. I can't imagine Ferrari or Porsche voiding your warranty for driving their road going race cars like the race cars they are. Nissan really blew it. This is all over all the auto forums and car mags everywhere.

Think about this. If you buy a used GTR, you need to assume you will have no warranty because you won't know if the previous owner did something to void the warranty. I was considering a used GTR in a couple years but not if Nissan continues to maintain their postition on this.

From what I understood, Nissan will void your GT-R warranty if you use Irish Spring soap and eat Lucky Charms in the same day. Screw them. That car was talked about and antcipated since 2000. That's long ago, and for them to pull this number 8 years later? Nissan blows.
