Guage

:dontknow: Ok, so my pic wasn't quite as detailed :p

BTW, a vacuum gauge can also be used as an instant MPG gauge. The closer to 0 the needle is pointing, the more gas you are sucking down.

So what you saying is when I am hitting 6-8psi of boost... I must be getting negative MPG.... something like -6-8mph...lol...:D :D :burnout:

it's best not to splice into the brake booster hose. if that leaks you lose your brakes.

plus, there is a check valve in there so you will never see boost and it will stay at 20" of vacuum all the time. you'd have to splice into the engine side of the check valve, NOT the brake booster side of the check valve.

OK, You guys have tought me where to hook up the boost/vacuum line. Now I would like to know the clostest place to tap into switched power, dash lights, and ground. I will be mounting the gauges in the steering column dual pod.

Thanks

If you pull the pillar mount out, there is I believe a white wire that goes to the gauge (the purple is the signal for the oil temp), the white is the lights, there is also switched power and ground in there as well.

All the power/ground/light sources you need are connected to the OEM Oil Temp gauge... fairly easy to figure out with a voltmeter.. I dont have a pic of mine however.

Sorry Stingray. Didn't mean to rain on your parade. Those were the rantings of a madman. I was just shooting off at the mouth messing with the folks dissin' my vac/boost gauge when I never see boost. Any and all help is always appreciated here.

And as azpyroguy said. All the wires are right there at the oil temp gauge to hook up you 12V power, ground and light power source. Just need a meter or test light to figure out what's what.

If the boost gauge is not registering correctly it could be the power source. Mine was off all time, under boost and in vacuum. I found out that the power source has to be uninterrupted when you start the truck. Since that is when it "Zero's it's self". So make sure the power is connected to something that stays on even for that millisecond that you push the button.
