First was a new GT. He came up behind me at a light reving while the light was red. When it changed he switched to the left lane and punched it as I did. I actually jumped him a bit and continued to put some distance on him until I let off at 80mph. I took a curve onto the feeder road. He went straight. His passenger gave me the thumbs-up. I can't say whether he was giving it all he had or not but it was fun anyway.

Second I met my next door neighbor about 3 miles from my house on an farm road. He slammed on the brakes, turned around, and fell in behind me. I let off and speed dropped to about 55. When he closed the gap I punched it and ran up to 115. I also didn't know if he was giving it full throttle until we got home. He said I hurt his feelings because when I accelerated I was steady pulling away and there was nothing he could do but watch. His is an older generation 4.6L DOHC convertible with CAI, headers and exhaust, and a dyno tune.

All in all it was fun and I'm enjoying my truck.

I don't know what best times are with the new GT Mustang. Seems stock they're running 13.8s and HRP versus my 13.3 a couple of weeks back, so maybe what I saw with the new GT tonight was real.

Enjoy.......................

Unless his name is Smoke also these were not my kills. Now if it were Cobra's, then those would be mine.

Got a short story I hope I dont bore you with.
About 9 years ago, I was in my GMC (the one I still have in the picture below) and came up behind a reportedly fast Mustang GT in Chattanooga. When the light turned green, we both nailed it. After about 5 seconds, I thought something's wrong, I should be in his bumper by now. I went home later and reset my timing, fuel pressure, etc. I couldn't find anything wrong (majorly depressing). The next day, a buddy of mine said he overheard the guy talking about an old GMC staying on his a$$. Come to find out, he had GT40 heads, 6 pounds of boost, and a 150HP hit of nitrous. I felt better then. The second picture here is the car I traded to get my SRT-10 (best move I ever made).

I've never dyno'd the GMC, but based on a couple different simulators, it should be between 520 & 570HP at the flywheel. I'm guessing it's somewhere around 430-450HP at the wheels. It's a 355 inch small block with 12.75:1 static compression, a 0.632" mechanical roller and two 600's on a tunnel ram. I wish I had gone with less compression and a blower to make it more streetable. I have to run race fuel in it now. It's really not much more HP than a stock SRT-10, in fact it should have way less torque below 4000RPM, but it has a big weight advantage (3700 lbs.). The 4000 RPM stall doesn't hurt either.
