I have had Directv for years, last year I got the HDTV DVR and have had issues since then. I have never been able to get all of the HD channels and their customer service blows. After the big storms my satellite went out and it doesn't look like it is coming back! So I call the cable company and got a killer deal from them. HDTV, Tivo, every channel they have, high speed internet, wireless home network for about $100 a month. Now I just need to get Vonage for my phone and I will end up with more services for just about 1/2 the money. So if anybody wants to buy a Dirctv HD DVR just let me know, I have one that is only a couple of months old. I also have a regular Directv DVR if anyone needs one.

Make sure when they install the MOXI box they use "good" RG-6 wire for the dvr outlets, and make sure they have no more than 10db at the outlet or the box will tile and you'll no be happy with the service:)

Thanks, I will do that.

I switched from Direct TV because of their service. Sold the boxes on Ebay.

You will like Vonage my friend has it, its a pretty neat service. Specially if you have something like a blackberry , you will get a email on your bb when you get a call at the house and who it was, caller id , everything.

Cool, I do have a blackberry. Only thing that sucks is that I can't keep my number.

You mean your house number ? right. Not sure if Vonage works with cell/bb numbers.

Yeah, I can't keep the house number. That's ok, now I can give it to the people that I still want to have it LOL. Get rid of some of those unwanted calls.

Bob, Yer absolutely right.... I've had DIRECTV for over 10yrs as well.....My service in Oceanside has always been pretty damned good actually. If I had a problem they were on it like "stank"...

But ever since I put it in the LaQuinta house they've had everything so totally farked up that I wanted to shit can the whole affair. They double billed me for my first install. (over 200 bux) So I called them and they said to have my CC company reverse it.

So I had my credit card company reverse the double charge. The next month it was back on my bill again....

They're customer service reps have the IQ of crab lice. I mean, you know immediately when you get a moron on the phone. You can't understand a word they say and when ya do, they're using words of one syllable or less....

Words like "axt" instead of "asked".........??? WTF is that...?

Don't get me wrong, but if someone wants to speak ebonics in the "hood" or " 'round da creub, wit day homies" ...."yo bitch, I'm down widdat"... But not when I'm doing business and you just tried to cornhole me for an extra 200 bones.....

I told DIRECTV flat out that if they keep this shit up, I'll chuck their shit (dish and all) right thru their frigging windows and switch to digital cable.....

....... "You down widdat, Holmes.......?"

............ how much for the HD-DVR?

Quick
How about $250 and I will throw in the oval triple LNB dish too? The DVR is about 3 or 4 months old, paid $500 for it. I have an older one too that I paid $1000 for last year that died on me, but you can have that one too, the hard drive and other parts in it are probably ok. Special "Bro" pricing for you!

I need to keep it for a week or two to watch all the stuff we have recorded. They aren't hooking up my cable until the 10th of August!

I have had Directv practically since they started up. I had one issue with their auto renew on NBA League Pass, and they cleared it with one call. I hated the cable before that. It was out more than it was on it seemed.

I`ve had DirecTV for about 3.5 months,no issues. Time Warner Cable sucked and was very expensive.I`m keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a complete system. But I don't have a HD-DVR...... so you keep it as long as you need it, and give me a jingle when ready (310.600.9575)

Thx Bob,
Jerry :dancing:

I am a senior technician for the cable company. Things are pretty reliable now since we do phone and high speed service now. Usually we can catch service outages before you wake up in the morning or get home from work at night. Usually only trouble comes form @ss$ole's who think there billy bobcat driver or bobby backhor operator and dig my #hit up:mad: . You will like the service but remember its like everything in the known universe its not perfect. If it was I would be unemployed driving a nissan.

Will do Jerry. It will just be a couple of weeks.

I have had Directv for about 3 years now, and I like it a lot more than when I had to deal with those assholes at Comcast.

Bill.
