WOW- when i was there it was kinda a dump at least in the hill st area with all the hookers/headshops and meth problems that were happening at the time- i had forgotten the name until you said it- i remember cruz'in down there along the beach, thanks for the info- wow how things change and in this case for the better.Django said:A few changes..........
Big crack down on hookers on Hill St....
In fact, there's no more Hill street.... Since the nice new O'Side Civic Center went in, it's called US HWY 101...... No more Hill St at all....
East Oceanside (where I live) has continued to flourish. And there's a brand new golf course called Arrow Wood in a big housing developement (700k to 1.5 mil) near the Vandergrift gate..... It's a great course, too...
Security is a bit tighter at the gates of Pendelton since 9/11. I was detained at the gate and was deemed suspicious when they popped the back hatch on my Z and saw my (small travel) humidor... It looks a bit like a fkn pipe bomb.... (yikes) and I heard a few bolts drop when they saw it.... But it turned out fine...
HWY 78 is finished and in great shape... Traffic isn't nearly as bad now because of it...
The new Hwy 76 is four lanes from I5 east to College Blvd...... Will eventually go all the way to I-15....
San Marcos, you wouldn't recognize..... Hugely developed.. New UCSM campus there now, too....
What else do ya wanna know.....?
