Hail Damage Estimate

I went for an estimate to fix the dents from the hail storm/tornado a few weeks ago

They said $1,100.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I could pick it up the same day.If I had full coverage insurance they would fix a few other un-noticeable imperfections for $1,500.00,but since I don't and have to pay out of pocket they reduced it to $1,100.00

It has about six dents on the hood and about the same on the roof of the cab.Does this sound right or ????????????? :dontknow: :dontknow:

Sounds about right to me... But, I live in Southern California....

Couple hundered per dent for pianless removal sounds about right.

Look on utube ( paintless dent removal) and buy some dry ice, you can probably do most of it yourself.

In the last vid I posted the guy does admit that the hot sun can make the dent re-appear. Could be a problem with a black truck.

Depending on how severe the dents are, I still think I'd give it a shot.

Out here in sunny (hot) Cali they do it all the time, haven't heard any complaints...............Go for it, the worst is you'll have to carry an ice chest

Nelson, was the quote from a regular body shop or a paintless dent removal system? The paintless dent removal is awesome and cost about 50 to 75% less than a body shop. Just had some dings removed from my quarter panel and you can not tell where they were.

Hey with all these extra hoods floating around I'll bet you could find a black one at a reasonable price.:rock: :rock:

Seems most guys are going to keep theirs or they are wanting $500 and up.

The HEMI guys are willing to pay big bucks to get an SRT hood and they are driving the prices up.

The most I would give is about $400

The only method I would be willing to try is the dry ice.Body work is NOT my thing.I can barely wash and wax it without making a mess

Oh yeah, cars were much more substantial back in '74. Today's vehicles are basically aluminum foil with car manufacturers trying to make them lighter.

And the 99 4x4 weighs within 100 lbs of the SRT
