Has anybody had problems with the oil pressure gauge losing pressure and the engine making clicking sound?

Yessir, good chance it's your pressure relief valve. It threads into the driver side of timing cover.

Sounds like you don't have any oil pressure. Usually the first step is to hook up the mechanical gauge to the sending unit hole to check for pressure.
