Has Anyone Broken a Sway Bar Link?

I don't know how or when it happened but my passenger side sway bar link, the section of 1/2" all thread, broke just above the lower nut. I went all over and the only place that could order it for me was Fastenall. It is 1/2" x 20 fine thread. The 3 foot section was about $20.00 and I will be able to cut about 5 of them since the section is only 8" long!

Any ideas on what caused it? I have not hit anything or had any major wheel hop ever. With that said, I have never hooked real well off the line either. I am just stumped. :dontknow

i had an Older Dodge Dakota....

I broke one side of the front link, And soon after i fixed it, The other side broke, And i never ran over curbs or off roaded...

Those links must be under some pretty heavy load, I assume they just wear out overtime???

Still wondering but it is fixed

It was an easy fix but I am still wondering what caused the link to break. The truck only has 21,XXX miles on it. Oh well. I got enough to make 4 more links!!!
