I have only been with this forum for a few months now as I am new to the SRT10 community. I have spent the last 8 years in the Lightning community. But it seems to me...there HAS to be a better option for traction than the Cal-Tracs. I have been considering the Cal-Tracs...and have also pulled the front sway bar (for better vehicle weight transfer) but am still not satisfied.
Not trying to slam Cal-Tracs or any vendors by any means...but....how has this truck been out of production for 9 years and NO vendor come up with a better solution? On my Lightning...I had similar issues with wheel hop and loss of traction (just as these trucks do). Outside of putting a new true 4-link rear end in....why can't we get someone to come up with some 58" rancho style bars?
We finally had a vendor produce some and I ended up getting these on my Lightning and NEVER had another issue.
I am talking to someone local and we are looking into fabbing something similar. Complete with grade 8 brackets. Below are the ones I had on my Lightning...and they worked great. Never broke an axle....never broke lose and would pull 1.5 short foots at the track.
