Have a power steering question

I just replaced my powersteering pump today, didn't totally finish due to me not having enough powerstering fluid, the wrong radiator fluid and autozone being closed by the time i realized this. Anyway my questions are

Can I use Lucas powersteering fluid? Iv'e read that you use only ATF+4
Do I need to flush the rest of the old fluid out before I start the refill and bleed process? I only emptied the reservoir out and replaced with the lucas brand fluid.

I just want to make sure this pump doesn't go out on me too.....

jsut use a good synthetic fluid, and as its runin loosing the fitting at the rack, the line from the fan to the rack , this is the last point of high pressure, hence the last point you can really get the air out of the system fully

I guess ill just get what is supposed to be used (ATF+4) and disconnect the line while its running like you said and just let it all bleed out until its just ATF..... So can i remove the line then start it or do i start it first? do i turn the steering wheel while the line is disconnected? can i just keep filling the reservoir while the line is open to let it run out?

lucas is fine bud , like fatjack says tho , as long as you arent puttin in the goey stuff

but crank it up, let it idle, let it idle for about a minute or two,

slowly , very slowly loosen the fitting at the rack until bubbles comes out, "DO NOT UNSCREW IT COMPLETLY"

when the fluid looks clean, no bubbles, close off, turn wheel frrom side to side a half dozen times, then crack open fitting again to make sure all bubbles have been deleted good sir
