I'm looking for a picture of some ceramic coated headers to see how they look under the hood. Also where is the best place to get a set of shorty's? I'm looking more for bling rather then performance.

Have you looked at www.jet-hot.com ? Look under colors.

there is a photo of a Jet Hot coated ex. manifold on the clueless neighbor thread. a bit different & blingish

I couldn't find anything for our trucks on that site?
Yeah,I just wanted you to see the color chart.(for the bling) Buy your headers and ship to them for coating,Or contact them. They may have something for our application.

How much difference visually between coated and non-coated?

Here is a pic from JMB's web page. Are these coated in the picture?

Here are the Bassani headers I installed and the Mopar ones I never did get on before I sold the truck. They were JetHot coated...there is a HUGE difference in appearance and supposedly performance by containing the heat in the exhaust system.

Yes they are ceramic coated, and this is the best they will look. After time they will loose a little gloss.

Anything will be better then the rusty ones.

Look at the Gibson Header thread. Extreme Sterling coating on them. Were just stainless when I got them. I think I paid $250 for the coating. Drove them to the site and picked them up.

I think I like the bassanis over the gibsons. I'm also under a time crunch. I have to get them to Marty by Friday for the build. Not a lot of time to get them sent off to someone for coating. I think the Bassanis come coated or at least they can be coated. Just don't know if that is done at the factory or sent off. Justin's web page says coated and I sent him a PM to see if they are in stock.

The Bassani's are definitely a better header. Good choice. I thought the headers were coated but according to Bassani's site they are stainless, no mention of a ceraminc coating for the SRT-10 headers.

I to vote for the Bassani~

Trey has them on his QC and they are beautiful. They are also a Tri-Y setup for better scavenging! V10's need scavenging help due to the firing order!

The long tubes look the best under the hood from what I've seen. Those shorties look like they might be a difficult installation.:dontknow:

I did alot of research on shorties when I was building my old 5.0. As long as the shorties were "equal length" and of the proper diameter for the mods or future mods the dyno numbers weren't much different than the long tubes. I'm sure there will be bigger differences in dyno numbers due to displacement differences between the 5.0 and the 8.3!;) But, the shorties in the pictures on this post, did not seem to be equal length? If that is true, why wouldn't you just opt for the long tubes to maximize performance? I realize then, you would have to buy new mid-pipes too.

I know the install of the equal length shorties on the Mustang was a PITA. I'm reasonably sure that it would be quite a challenge with a V10 also!

So, why not just buy long tubes?

The only reason I wanting to get some shorties is I like the way the look under the hood. Right now my engine is out of the truck so install will be easier the normal. The extra cost for LT's to get maybe 10-15 HP is not worth it to me when I'm really just shooting for a replacement for the current rusty ones. If I want more power then I will just up the boost from the turbo.

Look better then these IMO

I guess I need to see some pics of LT's installed.

I understand the ceramic gets a little crusty looking,And brown out a little in the tight crevices.Jet-Hot is the way to go IMO.I will probably go with the Bassani's when the Gibsons come off.
