After installing the fans I drove from Houston to Dallas yesterday. My outside temp gauge read between 97 and 101 for a good part of the 300 mile trip. Yes, I drove between 70 and 80 mph. Water temp went to 203-205 and oil went to 210. Turned on the fans and within 5 miles water to 197-199 and oil went to the same level.
Tried something else. We all know when we stop a running engine the water temp rises for a period of time, no circulation or cooling fan. I stopped for fuel and left the 2 add on fans running. Maybe 10 minutes started the truck and the water temp was 205 but went back down to 198 within a short couple of minutes. Figured the fans cooled the water in the radiator somewhat then ran that cooler water into the engine. Also the oil read 187 after the cooling. After the fans were running put the cruise on 79 mph and never one time did the temp reach the 200 mark.:rock::rock:
It’s really nice to have a little success with something that came from your feeble mind.
