Reading the manual how to remove the cats i see as a first step: saturate the bolts and nuts (between header and cats) with heat valve lubricant and allow 5 min to penetrate.

Question: why the lubricant ? Loosen the bolt/nuts ? I don't have such spray bottle unfortunately but i do have some freezing spray (loctite freeze'n'release).

thks guys...

if ya mean the manifold flange bolts, 3 per bank, they are tryin to say that they can be mo fo's to get loose. if the holder breaks loose then ya have a free spinnin nut. some have tourched them out, some have used a die grinder with a cut off wheel & some have been able to get vise grips on the nut & manifold to get them apart.
but any kind of penetratin oil would be a big help

"3 inch die grinder" lubricant works the best. even if you get the bolt cut half way, then wrench on the bolt, it should snap.

now ya know if ya want it to brake it won't & if ya don't it will.
would like to meet the Murphy guy once, just once, lmao

basically if you dont spray some WD on it and let it sit for a while, when you go to take the bolts off; the keepers will spin and its a PAIN to hold the nuts from the back side ...(that didnt sound good).

thks for the help guys....

I bet Murphy is just a woman:dontknow: :argh: :p

left bank was bolt/nut of which came loose without problems (rest is tomorrow) Right side had those std square pain in the ass nuts:mad: Also there one out, no problem but the second started dancing :argh: . Gonna be fun tomorrow as the last 4 are not very accessible too:banghead:
I prefer doing something else when lying on my back:knuddel:

no problem FLOOR ... just look good and clamp the turning nut/holding plate with a vise grip to the flange manifold side. Took me a while to found out ... but worked easy that way ! ;) :D

bolts came out. Not easy but easier then I expected. CAT's back on the stock headers..... I'm one piece of 2,5" pipe short (about 2 feet) to clamp the cats to the borla catback  Of course not a common part arround here. Damn. Gonna order a 5 feet pipe. Problem 2 : it doesn't come with an extruded end on one side (to slide the 2,5 catpipe in + clamp). How in the hell am i gonna do that :dontknow: Should I heat it up and ram it in? Suggestions?

Don't y'all have muffler shops? They would be able to expand the pipe easily on their machine.

yep. what he said:burnout:  :burnout:

nah, haven't found one. Exhaust have to be E or e registrated. Shops are buying it from the factory and sell those of the shelf. I'll find a way to make it fit...

PB Blaster is the best stuff out there at our shop we have tried every penetrating oil out there and PB Blaster is the best, There is one other one that was really better but the precautions were unconsiousness or death can occur from long term inhalation, so we through that shit out.
