Heated seats

So i learned something on my trip to & from Havasu. The heated seats cycle if you turn them on high in 15-20 min's they turn themselves down to low, and in another 20-30 min's turn them selves off? Now in my 01 cummins they stay on no matter how long. Wonder if this some kind of PC we dont want to burn kids of something?

Yeah but after about 15 mins on high my ass feels like it's on fire anyways so I usually turn it down anyways you can always turn it back up.
