I have heard alot things on this subject,,,,so I usally just scratch my tires, but on my very last run last week I decided to smoke them up ...1 because i have never just smoked my tires and 2 wanted to see if it would make a difference...It did seem to make a difference in the feel...but I mixed all my slips up and dont know if it made a difference in time or sixty foot.....

What do yall think about this subject?

The time slips should have a date and time on them so you can put them in order.

sweet , I am such a dumbass

Yea it shows no difference,,, had some better and worse before the run I heated them up

what they said on street tires just enough to clean the dirt off them. smokes for show on perilli's

I think it helps out a lot. The residue that is left on the bed of the truck is proof that the stock rubber gets rather sticky when heated.

sticky?

I was told by the local dynoguy that heating is for slicks and doesnt do a thing for street tires. Something about they're harder. He also said that if you can stay out of the water to do that also.

It was a track rental and my first time ever at a track. In those videos my mods were Stage 2 flash, K&N CAI, Borla exhaust sans rear cats. I did lose that day to an L that is a friend of mine. I also lost some to some 9 second cars. We only had about 30 vehicles there. The closest race was the GTO. My 12.82 to his 12.83 with him on slicks and me on street tires.
