Hellboy 3.0: ProCharger Progress

Been wrenching on the 10 here and there this last week.

Thought it might be time to post up.;)

Justin's Procharger kit is quite a piece of work. One word comes to mind: robust. The brackets are just plain beefy. I'm guessing you could probably hang the engine by them.:D Justin has also done a decent job on the instructions for a first run. The installation has been going nicely, with only a couple of issues relating to having Striker heads (minor stuff). One particularly nice feature (Paxton owners take note) is that you can change the serpentine belt after removing just the Procharger's belt! No more pulling the brackets off if something shreds!

If all goes well I should have the new fan on the radiator, and be able to get the front of the truck buttoned up. First start up should be coming soon, and yes, I will post up some video. This thing ought to sound effin' nasty!

Still impresses me every time I look at pictures of this setup. Awesome!

Wow that setup looks amazing! SC is in the same location as my D's. It looks like you have the output clocked straight down correct? You SRT-10 guys are so lucky with all of that room in the engine compartment. I had to cut the inner fender for the intercooling tubing to go through. You won't have any of those problems.

It is awfully easy to route and install stuff in these engine bays, I must admit.:)

The SC outlet is at approx. 5:00. The charge pipe just clears the oil cooler lines, so I just mocked it up at the point where there was the least amount of pressure against them (almost none where I set it). I'll wrap the one that contacts the charge pipe with some tubing to prevent wear.

Only managed a 3-hour block of time on it today, but still managed to get plenty done. The fan work was actually quite easy. Justin did a fine job engineering this replacement. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to gain a good chunk of room in front of the engine. It could probably be done without even removing the radiator. The factory fan is easily separated from the shroud, and the shroud requires only two small tabs cut off. The electrics are straightforward. The fan's t-stat is installed in a "T" fitting placed in the factory temp sensor location. It's a simple enough solution, although a bit of work is needed to clean up the appearance, if you're particular.

Kind of hit a dead end with a few things, so that was enough for the day.

That's a killer setup bud, congrats to you and Justin!!!

Oh yea, can't wait to see a video, and hear how that beast sound!!! I'm already sportin wood!!!:D
