is that pun intended....??:D i agree!!!

what's your projected hp/tq on his setup?

Heh, heh, heh. Forced induction humor.:D

I believe that we'll achieve in excess of 900 RWHP on pump gas. How much in excess of that is a mystery. I'm certainly hoping for more than that, but I'm trying to stay somewhat realistic.

It's just going to be phenomenal being able to turn the tires at the touch of the throttle. Tinygiants and I were talking about what happens next if this really cranks out monstrous power at low RPM. We're thinking the truck will have to go to my chassis builder for a full tub and 4-link treatment. I'm betting that you'd see some air under the front wheels with big slicks out back.

Get to do any wrenching today? Did you go with a spal fan and PWM controller? Looking forward to more pics!!!!!! :adore:

Unfortunately, I'm waiting on parts from Justin. Without those parts, there's no sense in moving forward. There's a logical progression of assembly, and it kind of comes to a halt when something's missing. No bad on Justin, since this is the first DIY kit out the door. There are just going to be little things here and there that need tweaking, plus I have Striker heads and a Hogan's intake manifold which changes a few things from the build he did on Jack's truck.

On the plus side, my tuner is back from a "grueling" tuning trip to the Caribbean, and is putting together a trip up my way.

Yup. He works a few minutes away from me.

Any progress?

I thought I read something about a gasket issue they were having to resolve, maybe someone else would chime in. So far I think both trucks with this supercharger are on "injured reserve" right now :marchmellow:

im so frustrated that my truck hasnt ran for about a year now that i live vicariously thru these guys and their shit dont work either...im thinking of ending it all now if i dont see a 1000rwhp dyno pull soon!!!! FUCK!!!!

No, that was just Jack's truck. Both head gaskets went away. Big time.

I've just had a few little parts that have held me up a couple of times. There have been some t-bolt clamps that I've had to change sizes on for better fit on some soft couplings, and some other miscellaneous bits of hardware and machining to do. One of the mounts for the intercooler was damaged in shipping, so that had to be fixed. Then a couple of other items were added or changed. You all know how projects go...

I'm expecting the new clamps for my rad pipes in today, so I can get coolant back into it. Really, that's just about it. Oil's in the supercharger, the new catch can's in place, stuff's been rerouted to suit the new system. It's pretty much there.

Once I can fire it off, I'll check the cogged belt's alignment. Once that's OK, I can put the truck back on the ground and start with some short road tests. The air/fuel mix is likely to be waaaay off from what the Paxton setup had, so it won't be until dyno-tune time that I'll be able to put the screws to the new system. It's just as well. It's still freakin' cold and miserable here anyway. Silver's right. Sometimes this place is a festering shit hole.

go easy eric.......

more supercharger issues, both dale's & fstjacks now..... :(

Well yes, there is something up with Dale's, but I don't think it has been investigated yet. I really doubt that forced induction has any bearing (pardon the pun) on what's going on with it. As far as Jack's engine, the head bolts appeared to be appreciably below torque specs, so it's no mystery why the head gaskets pushed out. I don't think Justin even took the engine to peak boost before things went awry.

On a positive note, fluids went into my engine and the charger went onto the battery. After dinner, I turned it over. Surprisingly, it fired off after cranking for less than two seconds, after having been sitting for about five months.:)

What little I heard sounded encouraging.:D

Looks like the blower belt is riding slightly off of center, so a bit of adjustment is in order before running the engine very long.

More later.

Did you have the heads or block O-Ringed?

Damn, this is going to be a stout build.

Please post video when you get this thing sorted out...with sound...it is going to be just plain wicked!

i just have one question....... are you gonna upgrade your tranny? or should you? I personaly have had no problems with mine yet (knock on wood) I do only have 8k on the truck but do you think a stock tranny will handle 900+hp?

No. My builder said that really wasn't going to be needed if staying around 12-14psi with the Cometic gaskets. If I wanted to go higher, he was talking about doing additional crank work before anything else.

I have upgraded to the Viper car hydraulics, and a Centerforce clutch. I think the T-56 can hold more power than the clutch can. If/when the Centerforce unit fails, I'll try a double disc. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll probably drop in an adapter and a TH400 trans I have that was built to handle Pro-Mod racing.;)

Might be kinda cool launching the truck with a trans brake.:burnout:

Stock tranny is the QC's won't handle 900+hp for very long at all. The transmission in the QC is different than the type in the RC; there's a lot of work to be done on them for us QC guys while the ones in the RC are very good stock

No, they cant even handle 500hp
