I get in my truck, crank it up, drive down the road and im thinking damn its hot in here. The light was off the ac and the recirc buttons so i push them and nothing. I stop check the fuses.

fuse 16. a/c clutch - good
fuse 36. Hvac Control -good
relay 64 a/c clutch - good

what else could it be!?

Does the blower (fan) itself turn out? Just does't kick on the AC compressor?

Does the defrost work? (usually when the defrost is turned it, it kicks on the compressor)

Ive checked all the fuses all the relays all are fine..

I just noticed the side mirror defrost is not working either. THat is all three switches inop but the blower knob is fully functional.

if its low in freon it wont let the compressor come on. just a thought. might have to take it to the dealer.

You may have a wire loose behind the panel. Mine did and the passanger side would blow hot air while the drivers side was freezing.

It's a performance Truck. You use the 100 Air switch. Roll windows down @100mph.

Just noticed mine is blowing warmer air on the passenger side. was it a big deal finding the wire?

.

On mine half of the night illumination lights aren't working. The amber lights on the recirc and other buttons work tho. I know all fuses are good. Probably a loose wire or connector behind the unit?:dontknow:

I don't understand how a wire causes that. There are no buttons for the passenger side just the sliding levers unless the levers are somehow connected to the wire. Where is the wire and how do I get to it?

If it is low on freon it can blow colder on one side as there is not enough freon to cool the complete evaporator , so one side will be hotter.

You have to remove the whole center insert. The connections are back there. I would wiggle the pass. side lever and it would start working. it loses contact when slid to the coldest setting.Works kinda like a dimmer switch.look at the the sliding area and you should see what I mean. pm if ya need help.

Took the dash apart and found the loose connection.

The electronic buttons for AC Recir and Side mirror defrost were not getting power.

Thanks for the pm's

Where do I even start to remove the center insert?
