Ok finally decided I could not wait any longer to put the new Continental Cross Contacts on the truck. I was going to powdercoat a bunch of stuff but the powdercoater is like a month behind and won't even take the stuff. I have a trade deal i did with them so sortah at their mercy.

ANYWAYS guess what. I sortah broke the first nut I tried to take off. It broke the outer edge/ring that the key fits in. It also mess up the key itself. So it wont fit into the other wheels keys.

SO any suggestions on how to get them off? I figure the full set of key lock nuts are toast so give me your best ideas. If I can't get it donw by like 10pm tonite just gunnah let the tire place do it and take my money.

For those wanting the pics of
BEFORE - Nitto NT 420 S 305 / 45 / 22
AFTER - Continental Cross Contact UHP 305 / 40 / 22
PM me your email address and I will send some pics tomorrow.

On side note I got 35K HARD miles out of my Nittos.
12K and 10K on Perillis respectivley.

Thanks SHU

You're talking about the keyed 'security' lug nuts ? Dont worry, they are garbage, I broke one too ;)

I ended up taking it to a local tire shop, they had a tool (notched socket) to help take it off.

You can try at home....tighten all of the other lug nuts down, then take a large screw driver and a hammer to get it to turn. Although, you have to be very careful not to miss or slip...Fairly easy to slide off and scratch your rim.

If the local shop scratches your rim, you get a new one....:D
