Ok.. so I already broke off the bottom of the secondary battery box (or whatever that thing is) trying to remove the factory air intake system.. no biggie, I guess it will be covered when I am done. However, I am trying to remove the IAT sensor from the intake tube and I can't get it out. Am I just not using enough force to pull it through the rubber tube or is there a secret? I'll be damned if I break anything else...

What is the best way to remove this unit from the tube? I'm working on it right now so I hope I can get a quick answer. THANKS!!! Pics coming later...

More force. Pulls straight out.

I unplugged mine and then pulled the end out. It does require some force and there really isnt anything in side that will break off.

Ok... GOT IT. ONE MORE QUESTION.. the next instruction is "on the bottom of the intake manifold you will need to cap the breather vent line tube". Is this the tube that is actually still connected and UNDERNEATH the manifold? I tried to get the cap to fit on one of the connections I already removed from the stock intake box but it seems like the cap is too small. I don't want to go poking around UNDER the manifold since I haven't removed anything from there yet. Is that correct???! If so, do I just leave the tube hanging there? That doesn't sound right... Thanks!

There should be one about the size of the cap. The cap will be a little loose, But that is what the zip tie is for.Hope this helps.

ARRRRGGHH... I'll try again tomorrow. Back to stock for now.. I guess I'd have better luck if I knew what all of the abbreviations stood for in the instruction manual. Thanks for the help!

Screw that!!! Don't quit. What do you need help with? :)

I went over the "few" beer install limit after I spent an hour and a half finding that little friggin' black cap down inside of the engine compartment after it got away from me. I'm done playing with it for the night. I'll try again tomorrow! Thanks

I took a Utility knife and cut a small 1/4" slit right next to the sensor. Popped right out. The small slit shouldn't affect the original filtering system. Besides after you see and hear the new one you won't put the old one back on ....

There are two under there the one furthest to the front of the motor is for the throttle body. LEAVE that alone please ...

The one you want is a little further back, a bit touchy putting the tie and the cap on at the same time. But if you put the tie around the cap, just snug, then you can one hand it on enough so you can two hand tighten it after.

My next problem was the self tapping fender bolt - wrong size, went to hardware store and bought the next size up. Worked O.K.

Good luck ....... Hope I helped.

VERY VERY helpful... thank you! :elefant:

I didn't feel back on the bottom of the manifold past the first one, which I guess is the WRONG one according to you. I'll take another look in the daylight tomorrow. Bless you! ;)

Mine was the wrong size also :(

Yea ... Had to go with a 5/16 self tapper.

I took a little extra time and went to NAPA and picked up a dual 3/8" barbed coupler and a 90 deg. hose to eliminate the loop of hose from the radiator drain (great tip from Kevin's thread). After that the JMB Radiator cover kinda cleaned up the whole corner.

I have attached a pic of the manifold underside. You want to but the little rubber cap on the first opening you see. (Top of the picture).

NICE info and pic.. but I thought the guy in one of the previous posts said don't touch the one in the front.

It looks like there is only ONE according to your picture so I wonder what he was talking about? Thanks!
