 I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A 2-4 DROP FOR MY 06 QUAD CAB. I DONT KNOW IF IM DOING THE RIGHT THING OR NOT......I HEAR SOME PEOPLE ARE HAPPY WITH IT. AND OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT IT  I DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD DO IT.... HECK, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT ITS GOIN TO LOOK LIKE AFTER THE DROP :dontknow:

lots of qc's, especially '06's are having problems with lowering kits....... most feel that the problem is with the pinion angle & that it causes vibration when starting off from a stand still....... if you do a search on "lowering" or "x-metal" from the forum search above, you'll find lots of info......

most rc's don't have this issue.....:)

unfortunately, when you drop the front end 2" - it doesn't leave much room for travel & will give you a harsh ride......
myself, am opting for 2" drop spindles that will keep you stock travel & ride......
some feel that djm's lower "a" arm's will work, but they also take away from suspension travel & has alignment issues......:dontknow:

DJM says that the drop "a" arm are only for 04 and 05

When you put on the flip kit. Do one side at a time. Try tighening up one side then do the other. This way it stays the same. I did it this way and have no vibration issues at all.

I also have the McGaughys on mine and I love it. However depending on the truck you may also have to put helper airbags on it like I did. And this is what a 2/4 drop looks like!!:) :burnout:

I can tell you that it's the first thing I did to mine! These trucks are so much quicker and responsive in the corners with the drop HOWEVER you will need helper airbags to make it quit hitting the overloads at high speed.
Hope This Helps!!

Any info/links to the bags you're speaking of?

Do it, or don't. Only you can decide if it's right for you.

Anytime you do a modification to a vehicle, don't expect it to perform stock. Your ride will tighten, but with tightness comes performance value.

IMO - These trucks look 192837912837x better lowered.

Im currently doing the 2-4 drop. Im hoping for no regrets down the line.

I have 06 QC NR just like you AND also have the x-metal 2/4 drop for it. The biggest pain in the a$$ for me has been getting rid of the vibration I have on take-off. It has to do with pinion angle and I've had the dealership, a suspension shop and me and a few friends try to get rid of it but nothing works. It will be up to you whether you can stand the vibration in return for your truck looking awesome lowered. I will try to find the thread where I have pics of mine and the problems we encountered; took a full day to put it on with the help of several people.

Let me find those threads for you
