My wife is going shopping for a small New years Eve GTG at my house tomorrow and we have a dilemma.....What is a decent Champagne???

I dont need to WOW anybody but I don't wanna get something that just tastes horrible....hopefully, inexpensive as well!

Martini & Rossi - Asti Spumante is around $10 a bottle and taste great. I've tried more expensive champagnes but the spumante always taste the best to me (light sweet taste). It is very common and you can get it at grocery stores and the NEX.

If I remember right, Frexeunea (can't remember how to spell it, comes in a black bottle) was decent and fairly cheap.....

Asti may be a little sweet for some peoples taste,
you can get some really good Spanish sparklers (called cava) for $10.00 or under, try Segura Viudas, Frexinet, or Cordonui (sp?)

These are made just like the real thing -fermented in bottle and some come in magnums (2bottles in one) if you really want to spark up the night.
