I am getting ready to order a double din radio bezel and an in dash 2 bin nav/dvd unit. Problem is, I can't decide on a radio. Seems like every one I look at, I read the reviews and there are problems. So I ask for suggestions from the forum. Just want to keep the price tag close to $1k. Thanks in advance.

Avic 130 is what i have it rocks,, ive got 2 cameras , hooked up, sat radio, iphone, nav, etc.... this thing does whatever you want...

get it on sonicelectronix for a smoking deal

I was looking at that radio but heard the software had some bugs and the GPS was terrible. Any issues with that?

That is the new one I believe. I like the looks of it and the reviews seem good. I need to find a store near my house when I get home that has all these radios so I can play with them and make a decision I guess. I hate deciding on stuff like this, hell it took me 8 months to decide what muffler to go with on my truck.

I dont think so mine has worked great so far... been on a couple thousand mile road trip with it.. loved it...

there is an easy hack for it so you can use the deck while in motion " nav dvd" etc.. you just move one of the wires in the harness...

It might not be the best gps in the world,, but its good in some cities it shows everything in 3d ... i highly recommend it...

i have an avic z-1 i just upgraded to a 60 hdd and new maps,,just wondering if you have hooked up any cameras to it ,and what cameras work on it

Negitive, havent used any cameras on it. Really dont use any of the options except nav, dvd and bluetooth

Pioneer may be the way to go then. I like the fact that the Kenwood's use Garmin GPS but thats about all I like about them. I definitely don't trust the cheaper brands.

Nah, Im good on amps. What I have now is a Kenwood receiver (don't remember model number), Memphis audio amps (1 4 channel for mids and highs, 1 mono for bass), 2 crossfire 12s (gonna get replaced with two JL Audio W7 10s), and all factory speakers replaced with Kenwood. Im just tired of using my phone for nav and would like a 2 din stereo to fill all that extra space in the radio bezel.

I am talking with weedaho and dennis at double d right now seeing which one I like better. Im pretty picky so I want it to look factory.

anyone still have steering wheel controls on a 05? also anyone with pioneer deck have issues with the sound only play through dash and converting the 6x9 in the front doors to sub? it plays through rear speakers every now and then and then only for a few minutes. no clue how its set up since it was already installed when I bought the truck.

There is a new module out that does not require wire splicing and can operate any steering wheel controls according to the website i was reading up on.. So thats no problem.. its just a module you plug in.

And you can get a wiring harness from sonixelectronix or any sterio store that will take your deck and plug it directly into the factory harness all speakers will work correctly this way... i recommend it for a plug and play application
