Help please

The check engine light came on in my truck yesterday i was just driving normal doin like 70 . This happened once before ,same thing it was on for a day or 2 then went off . Has this ever happened to anyone or is there anything i should check ? Thanks

Did you check the code?

Turn the key to the off position and then turn it on, continue this 3 x's in a row and leave it turned to the on position on the third turn and you will get your code. Then we can go from there with diagnostics.

Mine does that crap alla time at interstate speeds, code goes away when it is restarted.

Mine has done this a couple of times; both times it was P0422 or whatever, "Evaporative system - medium leak detected." I cleared it with my SCT and made sure the gas cap was tight, and it's been fine since.

This is from memory, my desktop with the codes is down...but: You have a shorted O2 Sensor, Bank 2 # 1 sensor. Check wiring and repair if all looks good try another O2 Sensor .

Not a big thing...your cpu may pull a little timing until you get it fixed, but you probably won't notice the difference.

I just went in the garage disconected the battery . there was a little corrosion i cleaned the post and terminals . hooked it back up the check engine light went off . I checked for codes again and nothing came up . . Hopefully thats all it was
