HELP! WHEELS ARE SEIZED ON THE HUB!

When I have one in my shop like that I use a rubber coated DEAD BLOW hammer from Snap On. It is filled with steel shot and has a coating on it so if you miss the tire it doesn't scratch. I would not hit the wheel as it might bend the lip. Have someone with a long pry bar or steel pipe pull outward while you hit the tire,if you hit the tire without doing this the rubber absorbs a lot of the energy.

try just leaving the lug nuts hand tight on the rim lover the tire pressure way down set the truck back down start it up and keep turning the wheels back and fourth until it comes loose as far as the rears ull just have to hammer away

Just be careful trying this, tire wear and steering component wear sound scary.

Ok eveybody has an answer..........well I have the cure!!

1. Jack up truck as far as possible.

2. get online and find out how to build a large 4 inch potato gun.

3. position gun under truck pointing at tire and rim.

4. Put on goggles and helmet.(safety ya know;) )

5. fire off potato gun.

6. Retrieve tire and rim combonation from neighbors yard:D

lol just set the truck on jackstands tie a rope around rim usings another vehicle tie rope to car and drive away from wheel and tire. note : truck may slip off jackstands, rim/tire may recieve damage, bumper may fall off vehicle used to get wheel/tire off truck

But you will get the wheel off. :dancing:

I had this happen to me years ago on another vehicle. Got it off by using penetrating fluid, couple applications and few hours sitting, then using a block of wood and sledge hammer. One of the first things I did with my truck was pull the wheels and apply antiseize on the contact points. Dodge installed special washers to help with removing in your case but obviously it didn't help much. Good luck!

Buy a can of PT Blaster...everyone has to have a can anyway...spray, let it sit for 30 minutes, then use a pry bar...from now on, take them off every couple of weeks to clean them...they get dirty and we are embarrassed by your dirty rims!

DONE! took it to a shop, they used a long handled dead blow, just a couple of wacks! on the outside of the tire as another fella' spun the tire:rock: i slathered the hub surface with some never seize, all is good in the world now:D
