Went to the local arm drops this weekend to try out my new Toyo's and noticed a problem on my 4th run. I made 3 (roughly) 1/8 mile passes somewhere in a 90 min. timeframe, on my 4th pass i noticed my truck would kind of pause or hesitate at 4k rpm in 1st and a little bit in second. My 5th pass (about 15 minutes later) i noticed it in all three gears at about the same rpm (4k-4500). It actually cost me the race on that run. I also smelt my clutch after both runs (but as im running the stocker, i usually do). I know a "slipping clutch" is pretty self-explanatory but i cant help but wonder if this is my problem. On the other hand, i have installed headers, high flow cats, and a magnaflow muffler since my last trip to the track so im wondering if a tune is what is needed. Any advice would be appreciated.

Definitely sounds like your clutch is slipping during those RPMs. I'd do the 6th gear test and see. Driving about 55-50 in 6th, give it gas as you would passing someone. Watch your RPMs. You'll see it slip for sure under these circumstances.

I'll give a shot next time its out, i assume ill see the tach jump? I never saw the needle jump around when i was racing (which is what i would expect of one slipping) but with the power adders and new rubber, especially with the new tires, i would imagine thats why it is showing up now.

Yessir you'll see the tach jump as well as you'll feel the pull subside. :(
