Hey guys just finished installing the Hid kit on my 05 CE SRT-10 and now i have the lampout light "ON" im guessing it might be because when I took the headlight apart and took the stock oem bulb out the plug has 3 wires 1 black in the middle obviously thats ground and to other wires im guessing one is for Hi beam and the other for the normal low beam. Now the hid bulb only has 2 wires a red wire and a black. the red is power and black is ground.
so I connected the black with black and connected the red wire to the low beam or regular light you would have running and what im guessing is the wire for the hi beams is now not connected. could that be the problem??

I know if I try turning the knob for the high beams inside the truck the lights go from being "ON" to "OFF" im guessing because that 1 wire is now unplugged. but i dont know where to plug it in since the hid bulb only has one red and one black unless i try connected both low and high beam wires to the one red power wire coming from the hid bulb ....that i havent tried but i dont know if that might blow a fuse.....need help thanks guys

the dash lampout lits on since the load on the circuit with HID is different compared to stock bulbs, so it detects like a fail.

so you don't have high beams? I would be scared driving without! get a Hi/low kit instead!

by the way I struggled a lot to have a hi/lo kit working without CEL, it involved some kit rewiring, some high power diodes and a condenser if I remember correctly, then I put stock bulbs back :)

+1 on the hi/low kit. Got mine from a (semi-)local supplier, V-LEDs, and it came with a relay/controller (the bulb actually moves up for high beams) and load resistors to simulate halogen bulbs.

I connected hi/lo leads on mine, but the lamp out indicator comes on anyway. It's not until I cycle the lights on/off that it goes away. It's a minor annoyance considering the improvement in driving illumination, IMHO.

I soldered a resistor into each of the OEM bulb sockets so the computer is tricked into thinking a bulb is there. 'Lamp Out' indicator went bye-bye..
