I got a chance to install my HID's today and the install was easy, lots of places to hid the wiring in this truck. But of course after i had installed everything and re-connected the negative terminal the lights didn't come on..
It is a Phillips ballast/ignitor and all the wiring was in good condition, it's all plug and play adapters. I did check the connections with a Simpson meter @ work and it was reading 30 amps :dontknow: not sure if that is correct.
My one question is when plugging this into the stock harness the three wires that come into the stock harness which two would i plug into?? I assumed that middle was ground due to it being black on both headlights. The instuctions unfortunatly were written for a 9007 style headlight which is out of the '05 model, '06 uses an H13 -- 9008. Although I also don't think this should make too much of a difference, it should be High/Gound/Low.
I should also add that i was sent a second part for the HID kit that over-rides the "Lamp Out" this is the part that plugs into the Stock Harness and it only comes with 1 Red and 1 Black wire.
ps.... I wired the ground directly to the battery.?? Is that a good idea or not. Also when i was doing this i had to cut the Ring connector so that i could get it to fit but it's on there tight and like i said before i do have power up to the stock harness.
Sorry for the long winded post... any ideas?
