I just ordered the XT-4K-H13 HID kit from XenonDepot for my 06 QC, then noticed some folks had HID fog lamps also.

Has anyone here done an install of just the headlight kit for an 06 trk, or should I install a fog light kit also. (didn't see a fog light kit part # for our trucks though)

Thanks....John

I was wanting to know if just installing the main lights without the fog lights

would be satisfactory.

It all depends on what you are after. If you mean will you have enough lighting to see where you are going? Yes. If you mean will they look different to the people coming at you, if one is HID, and the other is not? Yes.

Bill.

it is and isnt yeah you can see with out the fogs on but when you do turn them on it looks like shit coming down the road(with reg blubs) i dont know with temp bulbs you got but you figure a cov blub is like 1000k your avg h.i.d is 6000k(white) and up unless you want a yellow hid. put it this way if your on a dark highway 3 lane and your in the middle you can light up the other two, if you put hid fogs you can light up the break down lane and some times see better in the fog. also remember if it is foggy out the hids in the headlights my bounce back at you, i havent had that problem in my ram but in my other car i do and thats when i just use the hid fogs and i see fine

I ordered the 4300K, which is supposed to be the brightest and whitest.

Below is from MFG.
3000k HID Kits: Yellow HID output - Ideal for fog light HID upgrades
4300k HID Kits: Bright white - Used in OEM HID applications. The brightest HID kit that we sell.
5000k HID Kits: Crisp white - Bright white output with a slight bluish hue
6500k HID Kits: Bright white with a slight bluish/purplish tinge
8000k HID Kits: Blue output

you may get feed back in foggy conditions and my want to look into fogs imo
cause your goin to want something to get under the fog,and the stock blubs wont cut it for you, trust on that i tryed just sliverstars ultras and that did not work it i was just able to see the white lines im just looking out for your safty, the hids will act like high beams

10-4, I will check with Steve on the Part # for a fog light kit for the 06.

Thanks, John
