Delete the fronts and replace the rears. Or just delete the rears and keep the oem fronts. Or keep the fronts and replace the rears.

this has been covered many times....... there are things to consider like:

the deq question, what can i get away with, do they just check my obdII port or do they do a visual/sniff test ??

should i go catless or hi-flow (or just cut of the rears & leave the front's on a stock set of mids) ???

if i go catless (the cheapest HP mod), do i go mechanical sims or electrical ??

here's what i've done:

So from what I read in one of the links I can just cut out the cats and weld in a new straight through piece and use the plug fouling option and I should be able to get away with that without having a cell come on correct?

As much I enjoyed sleeper's answer I did lol on that one is there actually one that is better than the other to replace? I dont want to remove both mainly becuase I dont want to get to loud.

The rears are supposed to be more restrictive. If you leave the fronts it won't be to loud and you will free up some HP. I've heard two trucks here from the forum with rear cat delete and they sound nice. Not to loud just right IMO. I've been trying to get my rears deleted but I can't find a shop that will take the chance to do it here in my area.

Removing both will result in the great power gains and have the loudest tone. Free flowing equals more power and noise, they are connected. This is why Nascar races are loud as HELL!!!! Annu forget the backpressure deal, its not an issue. Mech sims will stop CEL's. Getting a new flash or SCT can eliminate the need for sims.

If your state checks for cats..........well your on your own ........talk to your local speed shops for advice.

Justins mids or x metal mids are worth the $, no need to re invent the wheel IMO.

Eric I'm sure Mike can help you Gut the cats:D

I don't want to gut them. I want a rear cat delete. It might just be to big a pain in the ass though. I will have to get a smog test next year. So I might just say screw it.

depends on the area abot deleting them all together, I thought you were going with a new mid section Iron head.

so listen bro, I want stickem with ya, if ya end up not needen them jsut holla, we'll work it out;)

but you should be able to get ann exhaust shop to make you anoter mid section and put in the hi flows, according to most states , you jsut have tto have a set.

but if ya got problems bo I will work with ya, those things are too expensive to have them just layn round:D

but if they do ya a mid section make sure the front O2's stay in the right place, the rear you can put the plug deal in.
you may bbe able to get justins mids too and have them install the hi flows there

ok who is justin ,,i would like to get a new set of mids with o2 bungs all ready in place ,,front and rear ,,and i would like to have these high flows put in and weilded,,

10-4
i just posted if he could do it ,,new mids with all 4 bungholes for o2 sensor and these high flows ,,i hope i can get a fast turn around

I am going to go ahead then and delete the rear cats. Pretty easy job to do my self really. I don't want the truck to loud but would like the extra flow. I already have the Magnaflow catback and CAI and just got the B&G Stage 2 flash so it should wake up even more. These trucks are so dam awesome!!!!!
