Even Gary and Fstjack agree, ya'll might want to consider a turbo 400 install, from everything said and done, the 48's jsut will not last.

I would tend to agree with ya, The 400's been around for years and has had many many muscle-cars torque and high RPM's through it....

Well bo from what they said anything approaching 8-900rwhp or better. that is the tranny they and the other auto vipers are using . You can build a bullet proof one for half the cost of ours and never have problems,
But now I am not trying to be an expert here, but before I posted this I asked Jack and gary also and they agreed.
Maybe Jack will post on this subject.

I don't doubt it....we started melting them with 500rwhp...I'm just not sure you can even call mine a 48RE anymore.....

You have a stock 48re.....just kidding...you prolly have a 48re that has an upgraded 2nd gear band, adjusted apply lever, and a couple other goodies. Ours are just another step up than that...but they are 10 grand too.

I had a pontiac 400 i put in my 69 chevy with a chevy 350 with adapter plate. 400 trannys are the real deal.

Now im assuming mopar never had a 400 tranny right ? This is my frist dodge and im not Mopar savy. If you guys are talking about chevy , how are you guys going to bolt that up to a viper motor ? who makes a adapter plate for that ?

Dont forget different tranny mounts, and driveshaft length.

I had to get a custom driveshaft put in my 69 chevy not to big of a deal just more down time.
