Hittin Rev limiter before shift

Anyone know if I can adjust my shiftpoints down a little with the VEC?? With my new lightweight TQ converter I am hitting the rev limiter JUST BEFORE I shift....its just building too fast....ANY IDEAS?

This is a situation that Chris will have to work out for you on your flash.....He is currently working on mine....we have tried a couple of times and bugs keep coming up....it is not just the 'verter but the increased mainline pressure...the computer doesn't see the increase.....will let you know tomorrow....should be done....FYI dropping the shift point to 5600....so by the time the hydraulics catch up....shoulde be fine....
 
Yeah, when he does mine Im takin the VEC out I think! i just gotta get it to him and have him do it. Mine is shifting real hard....way harder than the Ramzilla (suckzilla) tranny. How hard does yours shift?

hard enough....it isn't a smooth Caddy anymore but still liveable....I talked to Dan today.....going to tighten up the truck to run 11.5's at any temp at any track...and I am going to buy a '68 or '69 C-10 short box chevy pick up and put a gen II viper motor and a 300-400 shot and get the f'er to run 9's...my dad had a '69 c-10......memories....:D

that happens with high stall converters. the engine revs a little higher than the tranny, so the tranny doesn't think it's ready to shift yet. those high stall converters slip a little.
 
My dad has a 69 C-10 step side the rare-est. Shortbeds and Stepbeds are the hardest to find of them. Its dark red-purplish , allmost purple looking factory color. 4 spd on the colum. Only a slanted 6 though. Its been parked since i was a kid.

I been trying to buy it off him and talk him into fixing it back up.. noooooooooooooooooooo hes not having any of that lol. He says he likes it the way it is :(

Sorry, just couldn't resist! Most of us six speed owners, just arn't smart enough to understand the advantages of your transmission...:dontknow:
 
Advantage NUMBER 1= dont have to shift
2. wont burn clutch
3. can drink a grey goose and cranberry and drive at the same time.
4. Can get road head from strippers and drive (that shoulda been #1 i think)

5. Missing mile upon mile of reliving the rush of old school hot rodding days :dancing:
6. Missing the satisfaction of nailing the gears and barking the tires in 1st thru 4th gears.:rock:
 
the fastest drag cars are automatics :)

the jury is still out with regards to the trucks. I think the autos win here too though. If the 6 speed wasn't so clunky I'd drive one. All my other cars are stick shift and I love them.
