Okay kiddos, here is a Christmas poem I first posted on the NFFF forum two years ago, then again here last year. Not all of us had the displeasure of being a part of that forum and some of you weren’t here last year to read it…. SOOO this poem may be familiar to many yet new to some. It mentions some old kills back when I drove my truck like a maniac (I’ve grown up since them) but still it fits the occasion and I thought it would bring some Christmas cheer to our holly jolly place. Enjoy...
T’was the night before Christmas driving fast in a great hurry;
Not a thing could be seen ‘cause everything to looked blurry.
While looking for prey switching a highway ramp;
He appeared back in the distance flashing his H.I.D. head lamps.
I let off the throttle and slowed down with care;
In hopes that he’ll catch up and it will be fair.
I was warm and nestled all snug in my seat;
Feeling calm and collected ‘cause this truck won’t be beat.
And #1900 with her high octane and me in my :santaclaus:Santa cap;
I checked to make sure my seatbelt was strapped...
When out of my tail pipes there arose such a roar;
And a S281 in my mirror just asking for more.
So away after a downshift I flew like a flash;
Laughing as he gave up with a new rip for an ass.
The bright sun on the breast of the asphalt could blind;
Gave luster to the supercharged object left behind.
When, what from his wondering eyes would fast disappear;
But a silver colored sleigh with over 500 reindeer.
With me as the driver, so lively and quick;
He’ll remember the cap:santaclaus: and say he was whipped by St. Nick.
I remembered the past of the many I defeated;
How many more will be angry? How many more will be heated?
More rapid than eagles the rivals went as they came;
Yet I whistle as I passed them and called them by name:
“Now Saleen! Now Supra! Now Cobra and M5
On Lightning! On GTO, On S4 all wheel drive.
From the entrance ramp of the freeway to the fast lane wall;
Now I'm on my way! So move out my way! Or get blown away all.”
But next was an Audi, an A4 as they say;
He thought he could outrun me but definitely not today.
So fast up the freeway screaming horses they flew;
With a sleigh full of high octane, and my :santaclaus:Santa hat too.
I hovered right at 120 as I played with him a while;
Then with a shift of a gear 145 read the dial.
I could imagine his disappointment as I drove out of sight;
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
