We're looking to get a nice-sized home safe. Nothing 'old west bank' style, but large enough to hold a few regular office folders.

Anyone have any recommendations on brands/type?
Prices would be cool too.

TIA

Check out Office Depot for the small ones.

I have a 1920's safe and its cool as hell. There are also door sized vault doors that people out hear are using to convert a storage room to a walk in safe. There really cool.

Not where I'm suggesting to buy, but an example

If I had an extra storage room, well....heh heh. Cool idea though.

I think we're trying to find a "2-person" safe: one that would require two jackasses to take it out of the house. So, 200-300 lbs. or so.

I'll check Office Depot and Staples and see what they have.

ever consider a floor safe?

these are the best, can't carry them out(usually installed with concrete) and just big enough for the things you don't want to loose

Yeah, but I don't want to have to chisel out a bunch of concrete. Drilling a couple/few holes for lag bolts would be fine though.
If we were pouring a foundation, a floor safe would be cool.

Plus, if/when we move, it'd be nice to take the safe with us to the new place.

Here check the link out. Look at the last two safes at the bottom of the page. We use both of those in our offices, they are aproved for use by the military.

I have 2 Browning safes, and I am very happy with them. I think you are looking for something much smaller though.

Bill.
