Hood Scoop

To avoid using the Search feature in the hopes of a few silver platter posts.

My original question was whether or not others here thought a cowl hood would have better suited the truck. So there was no search needed. You directed me to an irrelevant thread.

In 1998 Jeep made a special Grand Cherokee with a 5.9 engine. They put the 5.9 in that body style the last year they made it, 1998. That vehicle had louvers in the hood that vented heat out of the engine compartment, I have a set of those on order. I will post what I find once they are here.

Bill.

Except that:
- The thread I linked to is titled "Is The Hood Scoop Functional?".
- The thread I linked to has a few non-'heard it from a friend who' informational posts from respected sources (as requested by you).
- The thread I linked to was started 11 minutes before yours.

There's no mention of "cowl" anywhere in this thread aside from your most recent post.

Since you deleted your original post, it's a bit tough to gather more info for you. Sorry.

Yes louvers. I'm surprised no one tried this for removing heat from the engine bay.
