I know a bunch of you out there have changed out your OE steering wheel emblem with Steve's emblem. I am doing the same. Steve just sent me the emblem and I took the OE emblem off yesterday and must have f'd something up cuz now my horn won't stop honking when I put the fuse back in. I think I may have scratched the "computer board" behind the emblem with the screw driver. Soooo...I was going to put the stock emblem back on and take it to the dealer and see if I can get it covered under warranty....hope hope. However, I broke off 2 of the 3 prongs on the OE emblem that hold it in place. I could really use an emblem from one of u all to get me out of the bind...or any suggestions you can provide. Thanks in advance.

Just a guess...but the plastic rivet probably wedged itself between the airbag cover and the pressure switch....the pressure switch isn't that wide...if you push down on the top and bottom of the airbag cover that rivet will probably fall out....2nd idea....using an exacto knife cut a 1/4" x 1/4" hole in the center where the old emblem used to be...the rubber cuts real easy...get in there with a pen and clear away whatever is pressing on the switch....

thanks Nowwhat...will try both and see if that helps.

is there an easy way to take the cover off if it does not fall out?

hell, that may end up being my only option if it isnt the rivet or the warranty thing wont work.

There is a whole steering wheel with airbag on ebay...

If you had to pay the dealership or someone to fix it and it was close to $150 I would just get this one and have a spare for future needs. :dontknow:

I replaced the steering wheel on my GMC Sierra and it was not that big of a deal. I don't know if our trucks are any harder or not.
