Hello All :)

I got a shop NOT saying the name lol... They want to put twin turbos in my 05 QC SRT-10 :) my baby. --> Rwhp 1500 and NOT touch the motor like rods , heads , crank you know the good stuff. I know thats NOT right lol.. So my question is now .. Should i even trust these guys ? HAHA.. i am sure i know the answer to that allready.. Also my other quest is S/C & Nos. or Turbos looking for 10's. I see most of you have S/C & Nos. But i am told to use Turbos dont know... like the sound of S/C :) . NOTE : Ran 13.211 to 13.333 all weekend @ Bar:27.26 , Temp.: 86.0 , Hum:23 , Calt:4982 , Wind MPH 5 Dir. : 180 Degree ( Tailwind). PLEASE ADVISE :) I know opinions are like Assholes everyone got one But you peeps seem to know what's up on these Trucks NOT like some peeps i know lol.

Thank you all :)

properly sized turbos are better for racing, especially drag racing. superchargers have a limit and are much better for street use.

from what I've heard, you can't exceed 750 ish HP to the wheels until you upgrade the rods and pistons. (well you can, but you won't finish your run)

good luck!

Considering the internals on a Gen III is cast i sure as hell wouldn't push
over 5psi on a S/C system..i know that's going easy but i seriously can't
afford so fix this thing if it breaks :(.... anyways, i think that's about 600
somthingish HP to be honest.. if you want a hella fast truck do it right...
do it once... you end up blowin the motor and wasting time... JMHO

Not to mention you'll need to spend at least 5K to upgrade the tranny to support the power your talking about.

I've lost a motor already with stock internals, dont let it happen to you. If your gonna go 1500 rwhp and dont upgrade you might as well throw the money out the window. You wont make it past the dynotune before something lets go in the motor...GUARANTEED.

Many members have lost motors to poor tuning, not too mention bad advice.

Stinker currently has the only running truck with turbos. He and Fstjack would be good ones to talk to about them.

Not too mention, seriously look at upgrading the rest of your powertrain. Your transmission is a real weak point. (duh! as Dave said...)

Good luck and welcome!

get it in writing, have a lawyer ok it, go over everything, and when it blows the engine and tranny, they have to pay for it:D

For what you want it should be in the 50k to 60k area and that would be turn key with tranny and engine and turbos, any less than that and well you just get less:D

Thats what i am looking to spend 60k and yes on the tranny:) But should i go with Turbos or S/C and Nos ? :) Also the TIRES OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant find rims from no one......... or tires they all say there is NO rims for them trucks but i see you guys have some and i did talk to one of you a while back and i did call the contact and they said cant help you grrrrr.. o well still looking lol..

alot of the guys here have Stinkers rear end... i'm sure of the details
but apparently you can run drag radials and it's quite a bit stronger than stock. :D

1500 rwhp or 1200 for that matter isn't going to do anything unless you spend tons o' cash on the suspension..that is to say you aren't going to get it to the ground....anything north of 700rwhp means a build and more than just pistons and rods...

so unless you are going to tub your truck....go for 1000 max and you can run low 10's.....

I for one haven't had the pleasure of Stinkers rear end but perhaps Mikey could shed sum light on the finer points!!!!!! Rotflmao...ohhh thats tickles :star: :dancing:  :p

If you are looking at any high HP application I would not recommend any of it if you do not build the bottom end of the motor first. You will be looking for trouble by taking short cuts just ask around on this forum there are enough stories of motors blowing up to convince you.

Build motor first then go for turbos/superchargers or whatever forced induction you are into.

Hope this helps.

All too true, i think even on on the old Gen II and Gen I engines that have
the forged internals you could probly only push 8psi or so... anything over
10 on stock your askin for trouble fo sho :dontknow::rock:

Also, link to the rear end dealeo :)

Gently ben this is my suggestion to you

If you are in canada contat Steve Austin he will build you a system and truck that will do what you want.

If you are in america I would send it to Underground racing, both of these people will build you a quality truck.

Now depending on what you want a supercharger is not going to get you around 1000rwhp without troubles and daily maintanance such as belt slippage, and crank problems ,

If you want big numbers go with turbos, much more reliable and trackable in the 1/4 mile

but then again thats one mans opinion

oh and on the rear axle , it can run from $3500-$3800 depending on your options, but it allows 15 inch wheels to be mounted so you can run actual real slicks or whatever you want.
